"Tommy!" Robin whined.

"What?" he asked innocently.

"What is behind your back? Just show me!" she replied, exasperated.

"Do you really want to know?" he asked slyly.

"Yes! I really want to know!" she replied. Tommy knew it was the right time to show her, before she got mad at him.

Tommy pulled his hands in front of him, showing her the gift. Robin's eyes welled up with tears when she saw the adorable teddy bear.

"Tommy, I love it!" she cried, hugging it close to her. She gave Tommy a kiss on the cheek.

"I was going for a better reaction," he said, hinting to what he wanted in return.

Robin held the bear in one arm, with her other arm curled around Tommy's neck. Pulling him against her, she kissed him.

"Now that's what I was going for," he replied.

"You look kinda fly tonight," Tommy Malloy said, drawing a laugh from his girlfriend, Robin Timberlake.

"Fly? Who have you been hanging around lately?" she asked, curious of his new vocabulary.

"I just heard some guys saying that. I thought it sounded kinda cool, so I said it to you," Tommy replied.

Robin playfully hit his arm, knowing what he would do. He grabbed her arm and pulled her to him, so she was looking in his blue eyes. His favorite part (and hers too) was when their lips brushed, just before the kiss sealed it all.

"I know what you want to do tonight," he whispered.

"Oh, you do? Tell me then," she said back.

"When the lights go out, every single word could not express the love and tenderness. I'll show you what it's all about. I swear you'll succumb to me," he replied, imply his ideas.

"Succumb to you? Gee, your not at all shy, are you?" she teased.

"I ain't sorry for the way I feel. I hope you don't think I'm being insincere from the way I'm treating you. I never wanted to be so unkind. The only one thing on my mind is just kicking it with you," Tommy replied. Robin wasn't sure what to make of his words (or his vocab again, must be getting influenced by his buddies).

"What are you trying to say?" Robin asked curiously.

"It's not the way I feel. You know you must believe me, it's not part of the deal," Tommy answered.

"Tommy, is there something I need to know about?" she asked.

"I know you had a talk with Maggie today. She didn't want to, but I made her tell me what you said. And I'm glad I did. I never meant for my actions or words to hurt you in any way, shape or form," Tommy answered.

"Oh...so that's what all this is about," Robin replied, a little ashamed that he had to find out what was going on in her mind from Maggie.

"You can tell me these things...you know that, right?" he said.

"I know...I do...I meant to. It's just that...I didn't want to hurt you," she replied.

"I won't be hurt! These are the kind of things we need to talk about," he answered, caressing her cheek with the back of his hand.

He took her hands in his and said, "There ain't no use in putting up a fight b/c my heart in set on you. I see the truth, it's in your eyes. I ain't fooled by you think disguise. I can see I'm getting through."

"You must be spending too much time with your buddies. They're vocab is rubbing off on you," she teased, sniffing back the tears that were threatening to fall.

"Just give me a chance to prove I'm real," was his response to her teasing.

"I know you are, Tommy. I know you are," she said. His reply (and a good way to shut her up) was another kiss. He had her pinned against a tree in the deserted, but brightly lit, park. They walked hand in hand to a bench, where they just kissed for what seemed like forever. And they wouldn't have wanted to spend forever any other way.
